Rachael Lynsey Rubin is a makeup artist as well as photographer. I actually found this artist on facebook and she has portfolios of interesting pictures such as this one. I chose this specific picture because I am usually drawn to more colorful things. I think that the makeup as well as the editing that she did is beautiful. My favorite part of the picture, though, is the models hair. The way that she styled it along with the way that the colors and lights hit it is what inspires me. You can see the thought process behind this picture.

Yayoi Kusama's "
Fireflies on the Water". I chose this work because I have just learned about this artist in another one of my classes and have since become obsessed. I like that she uses very simple objects such as mirrors and lights and has the ideas to arrange them in these elaborate installations. This piece was installed in a room using 150 lights, mirrors, and water. The room seems to go on forever because of her use of mirrors, and also goes high up above the viewers head. I believe that pieces like this give the viewer a chance to have their own unique experience and thoughts about the art. This inspired me because I like the use of light.
John Nouanesing's "Paint or Die but Love Me" paint drip table. I chose this because it is an innovative design of furniture as well as an art piece. It is almost an optical illusion, because it seems to be melting and dripping yet it is a table. The color choice also makes this piece interesting because red comes with so many emotions behind it, let alone the fact that it looks like blood. This inspired me because I love the bold use of color, and the daring design of this table.
